One Consortium is unique in several ways
- Purpose built to address a global societal issue (unwanted/fraudulent communications) from the perspective of the international telecoms industry : there is no other global industry association focusing on this issue, which is much broader than industry fraud. We look into international traceback, legitimate spoofing, trusted trunks, KYC/KYT, national CLIs and cloud numbers on international trunks and more.
- Purpose built to co-develop with regulators, globally (GIRAF), the harmonized “tool kit” that is needed to allow this industry to do its part. Like they say, if you’re not at the lunch table, you’re on the menu…
- Brand new fast growing, inclusive, not for profit organization, with a twist : on top of traffic carrying members (voting), and vendors (non voting), major industry organizations have joined One Consortium in some shape or form (incl GSMA, i3Forum and many others).
Industry associations contribute what they have already developed on some specific aspects : One Consortium doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it builds on existing work, brings it to the next level, and drives adoption globally – we need everyone!
One Consortium is open to international traffic carrying companies, (voice and messaging), vendors, global industry organizations.
Regulatory authorities and other public institutions are kindly invited to consider participating in, or cooperating with the second component of the Restore Trust initiative, the Global Regulatory Forum (GIRAF) that was launched in June 2024.
